Transform Advanced Kidney Care – for the best patient experience

 12 September 2024 – 2-4pm

The Kidney Quality Improvement Partnership (KQIP) are running a ‘kidney patient insight webinar’ on 12 September to looking to share your ‘Lived Experiences’ to improve kidney care.

They are looking for kidney patients who have recent or current experience of Advanced Kidney Care (AKC) (sometimes also called Low Clearance) clinics across the country to tell them about their experience, what worked well, what matters most, what didn’t work for you and how you think things could be improved.

What is Advanced Kidney Care (AKC)?

  • Care from kidney specialists when your kidney function is less than 20% of normal but not yet needing dialysis
  • Preparation for future dialysis and transplant
  • Care when you have chosen not to receive dialysis in the future

Can you help them?

  • Have you started dialysis or had your first kidney transplant in the last 5 years?
  • Are you preparing for future kidney transplant or dialysis?
  • Do you attend Advanced Kidney Care (AKC) or Low Clearance or pre-dialysis clinics?
  • Are you a loved one of someone with experience of AKC?

Then they’d love to hear your thoughts!

Transform Advanced Kidney Care (AKC) is a 3-year project managed in partnership by Kidney Care UK and the UK Kidney Association/KQIP.

The overall aim is to work with people with lived experience of AKC, and kidney specialists, and to improve patient experience and spread best care across the UK, addressing unmet needs.
