Description: Kidney Care UK are looking for patients/carers to join their Patient Editorial Board, which is run in partnership with the Renal Association. The project produces patient information leaflets on a variety of topics relating to kidney health. Reviewers are needed to give their opinions on leaflet drafts and suggest new topics.
Experience: Any patient/carer with experience of kidney disease is welcome. Those in BAME communities are particularly encouraged to apply due to the current lack of diversity on the board.
Healthcare professionals can also join the Clinical Committee – see contact details below.
Time commitment: Approximately one hour a month. One or two leaflet drafts are sent by email each month, along with a standard feedback form. The drafts tend to be two-three pages of A4 and reviewers are asked to respond within four weeks. There is no requirement to review every leaflet that is sent.
Quarterly online meetings are also held to discuss future topics and areas for development.
Expenses: At present all meetings are held online. If any face-to-face meetings are held in the future then reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed.
