Virtual kidney clinic data collection trial

Salford Royal NHS Trust is looking for a group of patient volunteers to review a data collection form which will eventually be sent to patients as part of the new Salford Virtual Kidney Clinic. They are specifically interested in the views of kidney patients who are stable and not yet undergoing any form of dialysis treatment. You do not need to be a Salford patient to participate.

The form is currently available to review via email and in the coming weeks it will be able to be delivered to your smartphone as a link in a text message.

The idea is that patients input their weight, blood pressure as well as any concerns or issues such as recent hospitalisation. Consultants then review your previous medical history and up to date blood tests alongside patients self-reported blood pressure and then decide if continued virtual follow up is appropriate, or whether the patient needs to attend the clinic in person. In total the form takes less than five minutes to complete.

If you are interested in helping to test this data collection process or would like more information about what is involved, please contact Dr. James Tollitt via email james.tollitt@srft.nhs.uk before July 17th.
