Researchers from University Hospital Southampton are looking for people who have experienced acute kidney injury (or who have cared for someone who has) who would be willing to share their experiences, particularly concerning how they looked after themselves (or were cared for) after being discharged from hospital.
Before the research begins, people will be asked to contribute to the development of recruitment materials. These may include letters, study details and consent forms.
During the research process, people will be asked to contribute to the development of some or all of the following aspects:
- Questionnaires for people who have had an acute kidney injury during a hospital stay.
- A social network map assessment for people who have had an acute kidney injury during a hospital stay.
- A variety of questions to be used in semi-structured interviews with research participants.
- The analysis of the results and the impacts of the results.
People will also be asked to contribute to the dissemination (sharing) of the research and study findings after the research is completed.
This project is funded until August 2028. PPIE funding is included in this, so any travel costs would be covered, and participants would also be reimbursed for the time involved in attending meetings and reading any related materials.
